Carnatic violinist T N Krishnan inaugurated the Music-Natya festival at the RLV College of Music and Fine Arts as a part of the second day of the week-long platinum jubilee celebrations here on Thursday.

Carnatic violinist T N Krishnan inaugurated the ‘Music-Natya’ festival at the RLV College of Music and Fine Arts as a part of the second day of the week-long platinum jubilee celebrations here on Thursday. The violin maestro and Carnatic and Hindustani musician from Chennai, was honoured by the students and teachers of the college for his dedicated service.

After the inaugural function, a violin concert by Krishnan was conducted. He was accompanied by T V Gopalakrishnan on the mridangam and V R Gopalkrishan on the  ghatom.

T V Gopalakrishnan conducted a session ‘Musical Perspectives in Carnatic and Hindustani Music Syles’ in the morning. The session helped the students to acquire a sensitive insight into the history of Indian musical tradition. In the afternoon session,  Vedic scholar Thuravoor Viswambharan held a session on ‘Art and Self Realisation’.
