HYDERABAD: Four rebel MLAs of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) on Wednesday quit in protest against party president N Chandrababu Naidu's ambiguous stand on separate Telangana state.Nagam Janardhan Reddy, K Harishwar Reddy, Jogu Ramanna and S Venugopalachary sent their resignation letters to party office on Wednesday. Nagam and Harishwar Reddy sent their letters through Nagam's brother, while Ramanna and Venugopalachary faxed their letters. All of them resigned from the primary membership of the party. All the four leaders are planning to organise a road show in Achampet in Mahaboobnagar district on September 9 followed by a public meeting. After Achampet, they will hold another meeting at Torrur. "We will tour and hold meetings in every mandal in Telangana region," Nagam said.
Asked whether he would launch his own political party, Nagam said: "First we will tour the region and step up our demand for T state. I will consider launching a new party, if necessary," he said.Nagam said that he was upset with the TDP, which backtracked from its 2008 politburo resolution favouring separate Telangana. "I served the party for 30 long years. But, decided to quit protesting against Naidu's stand on Telangana statehood demand," he said.

Nagam Janardhan Reddy quit TDP in 1989 after he was denied Assembly ticket by late chief minister NT Rama Rao. He contested as an independent candidate but was defeated. Later, he rejoined the party in 1994.
