It seems like the Tamil film industry is trying hard to rope in the biggest B-town names for a film with our top heroes. Joining the bandwagon after Deepika Padukone who is now the Superstar's heroine in 'Kochadaiyaan' will be the Pakistani-Amercian actor Nargis Fakhri who made her Bollywood debut with 'Rockstar', opposite Ranbir Kapoor.
Confirming the news on her recent visit to Chennai, Nargis told City Express talks are on already for a debut in Kollywood, but refused to divulge anything more about it. When asked about which hero she was likely to star with, she quickly responded, "Oh, it's definitely a leading hero, but it's too early to talk about it as I haven’t confirmed anything yet."
Clad in a bright red maxi dress, she walked the ramp for Sidney Sladen at the launch of Anusha Dayanidhi’s event management company. The model-turned-actor was the cynosure of all eyes as she walked on the runway. It’s her first time in Chennai and Nargis is no different from the legion of Bollywood heroines who can only utter a Vanakkam in Tamil.
"I love this city. It's so clean — especially the beach — and I’m waiting to taste good south Indian food."
Nargis claims she jumped at the opportunity to visit Chennai, when Anusha approached her to participate in the show. This is because of her love for Chennai.
Nargis has also signed her second Hindi film, 'Khiladi 786' with Akshay Kumar. She says, "It's a completely different role from 'Rockstar'. I play a stylish girl who falls in love with Akshay. I have upped my glamour quotient for this film."
