CHENNAI: A Centre for Excellence to assist students in conducting research and completing projects was inaugurated at the Anna University (AU) campus, here on Monday. The lab has a capacity of 40 seats and has been set up by Muscat-based Bahwan CyberTek (BCT) Group.Named AU-BCT Kalam Centre of Excellence, the lab equipped with Bahwan CyberTek’s Cuecent, a Business Process Management software Suite, has been set at a cost of `2 crore, said S Durgaprasad, director and CEO, BCT Group. The lab has other infrastructure such as servers, work station and software to help students with their projects and hone their skills in Business Process Management and Service-Oriented Architecture.The Centre for Excellence will conduct courses, provide projects and consultation work to interested students of AU, explained university Vice-Chancellor P Mannar Jawahar. This association with BCT would improve the employability of students and help them secure internships and projects from corporates through the year, he explained.The lab was inaugurated by former President of India APJ Abdul Kalam.
