HYDERABAD: Chief secretary Pankaj Dwivedi took charge from the outgoing chief secretary S V Prasad in the C Block of the Secretariat on Friday evening.Speaking to media after assuming office, Dwivedi said he would give priority to solve people’s problems. Seeking the cooperation of employees of all the regions to provide better administration, he said steps would be taken for effective implementation of welfare schemes. Functioning of all the government departments would be streamlined and transparency would be maintained. Answering a query, the new chief secretary said he would strive to root out corruption in all the government departments. “Corruption has to be eliminated at all levels to achieve growth. I will strive to win the confidence of people by rooting out corruption,” he said. Dwivedi hoped that the newly launched Sagu Rythu Rakshana Hastham scheme would benefit a large number of tenant farmers in the coming years.S V Prasad who has been appointed as the new vigilance commissioner, several senior officials and NGOs Union leaders greeted Dwivedi on the occasion.
