HYDERABAD: Health minister DL Ravindra Reddy called upon the junior doctors to call off their strike and pave way for peaceful talks between them and the state government.Speaking to newsmen here on Saturday, Reddy said there is no way of holding talks with the junior doctors, until they call off the strike and join duties.Meanwhile, the indefinite hunger fasts launched by junior doctors entered 11th day on Saturday.Gandhi Medical College doctors have shifted two fasting junior doctors including a girl to ICU on Saturday as their health deteriorated.However, the remaining 10 junior doctors have continued their hunger strike.Speaking to Express, junior doctors joint action committee member, D Vinay said that there is no going back from the strike.He said the junior doctors who are in ICU were also not accepting any food and continuing their protest.''We will call off the strike only when the state government accepts all our demands,'' he added.The junior doctors association hanged the state government in effigy on the premises of Gandhi Medical College in protest against the state government's apathy in addressing their demands.With the striking doctors boycotting outpatient services, classes and elective duties, the health services in teaching hospitals and government hospitals state continued to be affected.
