HYDERABAD: A day after the party leadership had advised chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy to initiate disqualification proceedings against the 16 MLAs who voted against the Congress government in the Assembly on December 5, the party high command on Saturday summoned PCC chief Botcha Satyaanrayana to Delhi. The PCC chief, who will be leaving for Delhi on Sunday, will confer with AICC general secretary Ghulam Nabi Azad, and present his views on the latest political happenings in the state. Though a decision has already been taken to proceed against the MLAs who switched loaylty in favour of Jagan, Azad is expected to listen to Satyanaryana's views also.Satyanarayaana has been insisting that all the defiant MLAs be summarily disqualified to deter others in the Congress from fancying any idea of crossing the Lakshmana Rekha and joining the Jagan camp. Though it means that the party would have to fight Jagan Mohan Reddy in all the constituencies, the party says it is not afraid of going to the people to seek their mandate. This apart, Azad is likely to discuss PCC president's wish list _ appointment of new chiefs for DCCs and reconstitution of the PCC which have been pending for quite a long time. This apart, Azad might also discuss with Satyanarayana the contour of the proposed coordination committee to be constituted between the party and the government. When it was first moved, sources said Chiranjeevi would be asked to head the committee but since the erstwhile Praja Rajyam president wants a berth in the cabinet, it remains to be seen who will become members of the committee and who will be asked to head it.
