NPP candidate from Gudamalani constituency among 5 killed in road mishap

Five persons, including a candidate for the upcoming Rajasthan Assembly elections, were killed in a road mishap in Jodhpur.

Narendra Kumar Dewasi, National People's Party (NPP) candidate from Barmer, died along with his four supporters when the vehicle they were travelling in collided head on with a truck in Pachpadra area on Monday midnight, police said.

Dewasi was a NPP candidate from Gudamalani constituency of Barmer district. "Four of them, including Dewasi, died on the spot whereas the other succumbed in a hospital in Jodhpur," Barmer SP Sawai Singh Godara said.

One more passenger with serious injuries is undergoing treatment at the hospital, he added.
