Oh Lolita! Big B falls for Jia
RGV wants to do the Hindi version of Lolita in his own inimitable style and he has roped in Amitabh Bachchan for the lead role.

Mumbai: The body is not willing, but the spirit simply refuses to die. It's brimming rather!

Big B is out to flaunt some of his late-flowering lust! Well, don't call it perverse yet. So what if it is all about forbidden love and doomed sexual obsession for a pre-pubescent nymphet.

Agreed, all of this presents an aura of incest. But then we all know Lolita' - the Vladimir Nabokov novel so famous for its innovative style and also so infamous for its controversial subject.

Only that the idea has occurred to Ram Gopal Varma now - long after Stanley Kubrick crafted the story on celluloid in 1962 and Adrian Lyne did it afresh in 1997.

Of course, Varma now claims that he had been toying with this idea for quite a while now.

RGV wants to do the Hindi version in his own inimitable style and he has roped in Amitabh Bachchan for the lead role.

Titled Nishabd (can you hear an echo of Black?), RGV's story revolves around a married, 54-year-old man, who falls in love with a girl 36 years younger to him (well, this much we have seen in Joggers' Park).

Bollywood grapevine says upcoming actress Jia is to play Bachchan's love interest in the film.

All this promises the Bollywood version of Nakobov's timeless novel to be something really exciting. And one can also safely presume that more than black humour and juvenile temptation, RGV will probably pack his work with a heavy dose of emotions.

Varma's take on Lolita is completely different. He believes age has nothing to do with love. Attraction between two people can exist, irrespective of age.

As for the Big B, he is reported to be pretty excited to be a part of this project.
