New Delhi: Both the Houses of the Parliament were adjourned till Monday over the 2G spectrum scam. The Opposition has been demanding the resignation of telecom minister A Raja.
MPs from BJP and AIADMK created a ruckus in the Houses, demanding a joint Parliamentary probe (JPC) into the multi-crore scam.
Raja's fate could be decided once PM Manmohan Singh returns from the G20 summit from Seol tomorrow.
Senior BJP leader Venkaiah Naidu said, "The government should know what they did. They boycotted George Fernandes (over scams during Kargil war). It's upto the government as to how they want the Parliament to function. They want an enquiry of their own. The government doesn't want a JPC."
Congress spokesperson Satyavrat Chaturvedi defended the UPA government and said, "Let's leave it to the PM and leadership. They will decide what and when needs to take place. The Opposition needs to behave itself, there are things in coalition politics which need to be taken care of."
BJP spokerperson Prakash Javadekar said, "The BJP is echoing people's demand on anger over corruption. We don't believe in CBI, so we want a JPC on all the issues. 2G is a huge scam. The Opposition should come forward
for discussion on issues. Why are they shying away?"
