New Delhi:Newborns at Fortis La Femme Hospital of Delhi enjoy music. Music really is the rhythm of life for these infants.
Therapists use music to pacify babies and stimulate their growth. They say that listening to harsh music, like heavy metal or hard rock when a woman is pregnant can affect the baby adversely.
“Harsh music or rock music has said to produce negative effects on babies such as low birth weight babies or premature babies,” says gynecologist, Dr Lovleena Nadir.
Music which plays at around 70 to 75 beats a minute, like has a soothing effect on the body, because the heart beats 72 times a minute. Anything faster will stimulate and anything slower will calm a person down more.
“Music is basically the seven swaras . They are connected Meta physically to the 7 energies of our vital axis. And that’s how it energises our healing mechanism,” says Dr Neelam Verma whose a Cardiologist.
Music also has a profound effect on the brain, which can be induced into a more relaxed and higher level of consciousness though music which improves memory and concentration.
“Heart disease diabetes allergies cancer and asthma. Diseases of modernisation are catching up music is a potent tool for their management.” says Dr Neelam Verma.
