CHENNAI: A writ plea has been made in the Madras High Court challenging the policy decision dated August 19 and a communication dated December 8 last of the TN government to convert the new Secretariat building in Omandoorar Government Estate to a hospital. A vacation bench comprising Justice C Nagappan and Justice KBK Vasuki, before which the public interest writ petition from advocate R Veeramani of MKB Nagar came up for hearing on Wednesday, adjourned the matter till Monday (January 2).According to senior advocate P Wilson, the petition challenged the decision of the government on an earlier occasion. A division bench on September 9 closed the petition after issuing a direction to the government to look into petitioner’s representation dated August 22, 2011 opposing the conversion.A communication dated December 8 last rejected petitioner’s representation. Hence, the present petition, Wilson said.
