Jaipur: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch a nationwide scheme to analyse the soil of farms in the country scientifically, on February 19 from Sriganganagar district of Rajasthan.
The 'Soil Health Card' scheme will be launched in a rally from Suratgarh town of Sriganganagar under which farmers of the country will be issued a card after scientific analysis of the soil of their farms.
Rajasthan Agriculture Minister Prabhu Lal Saini said the card will contain all basic informations and recommendations for the farmers which will help in improving productivity by using appropriate inputs.
"It's a very ambitious scheme which will be inaugurated by the Prime Minister. The card will carry crop-wise recommendation of fertilisers required for farm lands and other inputs to increase the productivity of individual farmer," he said.
Agriculture ministers of several states will be present on the occasion, he said. Sriganganagar District Collector R S Jakhar informed that chief ministers and agriculture ministers of several states, agriculture scientists, senior officers and farmers will attend the programme.
He said elaborate security arrangements were being made for the rally. This will be the first public rally of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Rajasthan after the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.
