Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said the problems being faced by the world are common to all the nations. Addressing the BRICS summit in Ufa in Russia, the Prime Minister further said that the world "can mitigate any challenge if we focus on reforms of the United Nations and the UN Security Council".
PM Modi also referred to the issue of climate change, saying, "Climate change is one of our foremost global challenges. We need to focus on renewable energy and energy efficiency."
The Prime Minister further suggested some steps that BRICS members can take to get closer to each other, terming it as "Das Kadam: 10 steps for the future".
The first on the list of proposals was a BRICS trade fair. The Prime Minister expressed his desire of India hosting the first edition of the fair.
His other suggestions included a BRICS film festival and annual sports meet.
