BHUBANESWAR: An inter-school poster-making competition on ‘Chemistry in Life’ was organised by DAV School, Unit VIII, here on Saturday to commemorate International Year of Chemistry-2011 (IYC). Forty students from 20 schools from across the State took part in the competition.The IYC 2011 is a worldwide celebration of the achievements of chemistry and its contributions to the well-being of humankind on the theme ‘Chemistry-our life, our future’. The poster competition will be followed by a seminar presentation on Green Chemistry on November 19 and Quiz on Chemistry in General on November 26.The inaugural function was attended by Prof. Madhusudan Chakrabarti, Director, IIT-Bhubaneswar, Prof. Satyaban Jena of Utkal University and school principal Bhagyabati Nayak.
