Bangalore: The All India Federation of Gaming and Allied Industries went on a march on Monday in Bangalore in an effort to urge the Karnataka government to reconsider its decision to ban all forms of lotteries from April 1.
The Federation submitted a memorandum which appealed to the government to regulate the lottery instead of putting a complete ban on it.
In a press release, Federation President Usman Fayaz asserted that the blanket ban on sale of lotteries would be a huge loss to more than 1.5 lakh agents and about seven lakh people dependent on the trade.
The memorandun was submitted to Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy, Deputy Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa and Minister for Lotteries and Small Savings Ramachandra Gowda.
