BANGALORE: Back in 1942 following the principles of the Father of the Nation, a movement was started to free us — to give us independence — to give us back our rights from the hands of the British. This movement was called Quit India Movement.Even though we are free from the British Empire there is a national issue that shocks us time and again caused by our very own people. Corruption is challenging us — the government and the nation as a whole. And the eternal question is — how can one stop this? Karnataka Gandhi Smaraka Nidhi remembering the birth of Quit India Movement hosted an event in Gandhi Bhavan calling it ‘Quit India Movement’.This event held on Tuesday morning was oriented to find out solution in solving today's national issue ‘corruption’. The event was inaugurated at Gandhi Bhavan, Kumara Park by the Governor HR Bhardwaj and saw the participation of around 120 people.Said Bharadwaj addressing the gathering, “The only way to fight corruption is through the principles of Mahatma Gandhi that breathe in everyone even till today.”At the event, former justice of the High Court and Human Rights Commission Chairman, S R Nayak said, “Corruption can be fought, but only through the movement that the Father of the Nation created.”
