Congress MLAs V D Satheesan and T N Pratapan who raised the banner of revolt in the UDF on the Nelliampathy issue have been asked by AICC general secretary Rahul Gandhi not to precipitate matters.
In a new turn to the estates imbroglio, Rahul summoned them to Delhi.
Satheesan said after meeting Rahul: “We’ll continue with our stand to protect forest land in the state.”
Pratapan said Rahul had made queries only about the general political situation in the state. “There was no specific discussion on the Nelliampathy issue,” he told Express.
KPCC president Ramesh Chennithala, who was in Mumbai, said not much significance need be attached to the visit of the two to Delhi. “Rahul is engaged in a strenuous exercise to interact with a wide section of party workers across the country. So many MLAs from other states also visited him on Thursday.’’
