New Delhi: Family of late Bharatiya Janata Party leader Pramod Mahajan is still going through a bad patch. His son Rahul Mahajan is on the verge on ending his one-and-a-half year old marriage with Shweta.
A Sessions Court in Gurgaon on Thursday gave the couple six months to reconcile their marriage and in case they decide to live separately during this period, the court will grant them divorce on August 1, which is the next date of hearing.
Rahul married Shweta in August 2006 but within months there were reports of Shweta being abused.
Shweta, who is a pilot with Jet Airways, filed a petition last December and even though she has said the divorce is through mutual consent but Rahul has never appeared in-person during the hearings. His lawyers have always represented him.
Rahul was also hospitalised in 2006 after an alleged cocaine overdose. Delhi Police even arrested him on charges of drug possession and consumption and there is an ongoing case against Rahul regarding the same.
