The ministerial employees of Rajasthan on Thursday went on mass leave for an indefinite period, demanding increase in their pay scale and grade.  The employees, protesting under the banner of 'Rajasthan Rajya Matralaylik Karamchari Sangharsh Samiti', have alleged neglect on part of the state government.

"Most of the ministerial employees in the state were on mass leave on Thursday and our protest will continue till our demands are met," samiti member Kamal Kant Sirohi said.  He alleged that despite number of meetings and assurances by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and the Chief Secretary, the government has not done anything to address their issues.

Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, however, questioned the rationale behind the employees' agitation, saying that they were already receiving Sixth Pay Commission benefits.  "Minor issues are always there and they will be addressed. But by and large, everybody is happy," Gehlot said.
