Rein in communal organisations: YC

KOCHI: Youth Congress state president P C Vishnunath on Sunday said that the political parties, especially the Congress, should stand up to the intervention of communal and religious organisations in its  political affairs. “The Youth Congress strongly opposes the intervention of religious and communal leaders in politics,” he said while talking at the reception of the ‘Yuvajana Yatra’ here. He condemned the pervasive interference of the religious leaders in political matters, asking the political leadership not to be subdued by the pressure tactics of the various groups. Inaugurating the function, Hibi Eden, MLA, said that the Youth Congress must work for the betterment of the party. District Congress Committee president V J Paulose, MLAs Dominic Presentation and Anwar Sadat, KPCC general secretary N Venugopal, Youth Congress general secretaries V T Balram and Vinod Krishna were present.
