HYDERABAD: The Prasada Rao Committee submitted its report on rationalisation of staffing pattern in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) to the municipal administration minister Maheedhar Reddy on Wednesday.
The rationalisation of staffing pattern in the GHMC was meant to improve urban governance and accountability, to improve service delivery and to create a mechanism for redressal of public grievances.The committee has suggested increasing GHMC circles from 18 to 30 based on population. Strength of additional commissioners to be reduced from 10 to 6 and as many as 145 assistant commissioners be positioned in all the circles to improve revenue and service delivery, the report said.

The committee suggested new wings such as solid waste management, bifurcation of health department, disaster management cum transport department, statistics and records department.
