THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Revenue Med Blue emerged the winner of the Technopark Premier League (TPL) in the final match held on Sunday on Technopark campus. Revenue Med Blue beat UST Global Blue by 86 runs. Both the teams managed to reach the finals after competing with as many as 108 teams in the eighth edition of TPL. The tournament, which lasted almost three months, witnessed active participation of Technopark companies. “It was an exciting final. Vishak of Revenue Med gave a brilliant all-round performance. But we will decide the man-of-match and other awards only later,” said Subramanian, a Technopark official in charge of the TPL. “The Murugan Cricket Club has been entrusted with the task of deciding the man-of-the- tournament and the man-of-the-match,” Subramanian said. The prize distribution ceremony is expected to be held during the annual cultural event ‘Tech-a-break.’ The winners will be handed over the TPL trophy at the function. Other prizes too will be distributed. Earlier, the semi-finals were held on the Technopark campus on Saturday. This year’s TPL began on January 28. Since the matches were held on Saturdays and Sundays without compromising on the working hours, it took almost three months to complete the entire tournament. Interestingly, Revenue Med was the winner of TPL last time too. “Revenue Med has three teams. Team A won the tournament last year. Team B won this year,” Subramanian said. Some companies such as UST Global, Revenue Med and Accentia have three teams each. The Technopark authorities are planning to introduce prize money for the winners next time.
