TIRUPATI: Miffed with the union government’s reported move to remove 14(f) rule of the Presidential Order, leaders of the Samaikyandhra Parirakshana Samithi (SAPS) decided to meet President Pratibha Patil during her visit to the temple town on July 6 and voice their opinion against the government decision.Speaking to newsmen here on Tuesday, SAPS president and secretary K Balasubramanyam and N Raja Reddy respectively urged the government not to take any hasty decisions succumbing to the ‘blackmail’ of Telangana leaders by tendering their resignations.“Succumbing to the pressure by Telangana leaders, the government is considering to scrap clause 14 (f). What if representatives from Seemandhra region resort to similar tactics of blackmail?” they asked. Demanding the government to keep the state united, the SAPS leaders urged chief minister N Kirankumar Reddy, TDP supremo N Chandrababu Naidu and PRP president K Chiranjeevi (the trio representing the Assembly from Chittoor district) to make their stance clear on the state bifurcation issue.They appealed to people’s representatives to be ready for sacrificing their positions for the cause of Samaikyandhra. SAPS leaders including Sindhuja, Katamraju and others were present.
