CHENNAI: Though The Lion King Musical is synonymous with Elton John’s seamless music, the Chennai-version of it will have a desi feel to it, with Indian percussion instead of the original African. Directed by Harish Aditya with music from Vikram Sarathy, participants can audition for the show on August 13 at 7A, 10 Downing apartments, No 132 Greenways Road, RA Puram. At the try-outs, you can try your luck at either acting, singing or dancing. If you are the kind to be more at ease backstage, you could also audition to be a part of other departments of the production, including sound, lights, stage design, public relations, costumes, transport and logistics, among others. “We are looking to adapt the musical to the Chennai-stage,” says Harish.
