New Delhi: When people are waiting for the much-awaited Galaxy S III to hit the market, Samsung India has started shipping new units of the Galaxy S II smartphone, with Android 4 ICS pre-installed.
The news broke when a person named Kamal Tekwani (@Kamaltekwani) tweeted "got a new S2 and guess what ...... It comes with ICS right out of the box !!!!!" He further tweeted "Also pls note if anyone wants to buy S2 with ICS then chk month of import, one that I got was of April."
When contacted, Samsung's spokesperson confirmed this news and said, "Samsung has started to ship Android 4.0-powered Galaxy S II units," adding, "chances of people to come across old Galaxy S II units running Android 2.3 OS are very less now."
But, it is advisable that if you are going to buy the new Galaxy S II, ensure that the import date mentioned is April 2012 or later, to get the Android 4.0-based Galaxy S II.
