New Delhi: Top seeds at the Istanbul Cup doubles, Sania Mirza and partner Yung-Jan Chan were stopped in the final, the Indian tennis star failing to secure a second WTA doubles title in as many weeks on Saturday.

The unseeded doubles pair of Agnieszka Radwanska and Urszula Radwanska of Poland ousted the Indo-Taiwanese duo in straight sets 6-1, 6-3 in the Turkish capital.

Sania was coming on the back of her doubles triumph at the Morocco Open last week, her fourth WTA doubles title, where she was partnering Vania King from the US.

But after brushing aside stiff opposition in the semi-final in Istanbul in a tight three-setter, Sania and her partner surrendered meekly.

The Indo-Taiwanese combination were not able to break their opponents' serve, and in reponse, were broken thrice in two sets.

The Indian tennis sensation's next assignment will be at the second Grand Slam of the year, the French Open, which starts on Sunday.
