Nasr has been a test driver for Williams this year and also is competing in the lower tier GP2 series, where he is second in the standings with four victories.
Sauber say they have signed 22-year-old Brazilian driver Felipe Nasr for the 2015 Formula One season.
Nasr will join Marcus Ericsson of Sweden, who signed with the team earlier this week. They will replace Adrian Sutil and Esteban Gutierrez, who have yet to win a point this season.
Nasr has been a test driver for Williams this year and also is competing in the lower tier GP2 series, where he is second in the standings with four victories. He won the Formula 3 championship in Britain in 2011 and the European Formula BMW championship in 2009.
He said "it's a dream come true" to finally make it to F1 and that Sauber are "well-structured to obtain a better result than they did this year."
