HYDERABAD: Five of the eight members of the Secunderabad Cantonment Board (SCB), including its vicepresident Banuka Narmada, have met Director General of Defence Estates, Ashok Harnal in Delhi and sought action against chief executive officer (CEO) S Balakrishna.
Speaking to Express, Banuka Narmada said, "a couple of weeks ago, we gave a 11page complaint against the CEO's behaviour towards elected members at the board meeting in August." However, the petitions to Defence Minister AK Antony, Union Minister of State for Defence Dr M Mangapati Pallam Raju and Director General of Defence Estates did not evoke a response. "As we did not get a positive response so far, we met Ashok Harnal," Narmada said. She said Ashok Harnal had assured them that he would look into their complaint and take action against the CEO if need be. "The CEO was guilty of committing offence punishable under the Indian Penal Code for altering the minutes of the meeting and deliberately and willfully not recording the actual minutes. The CEO also tried to mislead the Cantonment Board," Banuka Narmada stated in the complaint. The ward member also said the complaint could be treated as a notice for a noconfidence motion against the CEO.
