The newly constructed block at the Government Higher Secondary School, Kadayiruppu, was inaugurated by K P Dhanapalan MP on Friday.
The new building, consisting of four class rooms, was constructed under the MP’s local area development scheme.
“Due to the excellent academic performance of the school, maintaining hundred per cent success in the SSLC examination for the past 14 years, students from even far-flung areas are being enrolled here,” said V R Sujatha, headmistress. “The school authorities were unable to provide proper transportation facilities to enable the children to reach the school on time. But now, we have overcome the problem as Plant Lipids, a company in Kadayiruppu, came to help us by handing over a bus as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) scheme. The 36-seater bus helps the PTA to conduct regular bus service for the students,” she added.
