Schools gear up for fair

KOCHI: It’s a beehive of activity at SRV Higher Secondary School (HSS), Government Girls HSS, St Albert’s HSS and St Antony’s HSS, as preparations are gearing up for the third Revenue District School Science, Maths, Social Studies, Work Experience and IT Fair.The fair will be inaugurated by Excise Minister K Babu at SRV School on Thursday morning. Mayor Tony Chammany will preside over the function. Deputy Director, Education, M D Murali will welcome the gathering.  The registration for the event was held at different schools in the city on Wednesday. Around 8,500 students and 1,000 teachers are expected to take part. The quiz and other contests in Science and IT will be held at the Government Girls HSS, Maths quiz and contests at SRV School, Social Studies events at St Antony’s HSS and Work Experience events at St Albert’s HSS. The contests will be held on Thursday and Friday followed by the valedictory. Union Minister of State for Consumer Affairs and Food K V Thomas will inaugurate the valedictory. MLA Hibi Eden will preside over the function. District panchayat president Eldose Kunnappally will be the chief guest.
