Sebastian Vettel and I would push Ferrari in right direction: Raikkonen
Ferrari struggled to a 4th place finish in the Constructors' Championship while Raikkonen was outshone by team-mate Alonso in the just-concluded season.

Abu Dhabi: Former Formula One champion Kimi Raikkonen said that the inclusion of Sebastian Vettel will certainly help them revive Ferrari's fortunes in the Championship next year, after a disappointing end to the 2014 season.

Ferrari struggled to a fourth-place finish in the Constructors' Championship while Raikkonen was outshone by team-mate Fernando Alonso in the just-concluded season.

"This year was a difficult one me, for the team. Ferrari normally expects to win championships," Raikkonen told reporters on the sidelines of the Ferrari Challenge 2014 at the Yas Marina Circuit.

Multiple-time World Champion Vettel joined Ferrari last month, replacing Alonso, and Raikkonen was looking forward to pairing up with the German.

"He (Vettel) has not changed since he signed. He is the same old friend of mine. With the help of the team, we will try and push Ferrari in the right direction and to the position it deserves," Raikkonen, who won the 2007 F1 Drivers championships in 2007 and the 2012 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, said.

The Finn, who had in the past, apart from his driving, also made headlines for his earnings, believes the team has made the right changes for the 2015 season.

"A lot of changes have been done already for next year.

We have the right people to build a good car, we can go back to the good times again."

"Next year, the car will be a lot better as a package.

Let's wait and see. I am sure the future will be bright. We have to believe in what we are doing, it will take some time."
