London: 'Sherlock' creators Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss, along with producer Sue Vertue, say they are hoping to increase the scale of the show with the upcoming fourth season.
The upcoming season of crime drama series starring Benedict Cumberbatch will begin filming next year, reported Digital Spy.
"The show has to keep evolving, it has to move on at a pace, I think," Vertue said.
Gatiss said: "What we want to do for a fourth series is match series three, but it's not a question of saying, 'Well we need a baddie on that scale of Charles Augustus Magnussen'.
"It's about trying to find stories that have that kind of scale to them." Series 3 was more character-driven, instead of the standalone crime-solving theme of the previous two. It explored how both Sherlock's (Cumberbatch) faked suicide and John Watson's (Martin Freeman) marriage affected the dynamic between the pair.
