THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Special Branch police will file a plea before the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate seeking custody of Venkat Subrahmaniom, who had allegedly attacked a family of three, trespassing into their house at Pettah on Sunday. Venkat was remanded in judicial custody by the court the other day. The police said that they had to probe whether more people were involved with Venkat to carry out the crime. The police also had to verify the call records of his mobile phone to learn more about his associates, if he had any. Venkat had given his statement to the police that he committed the crime to obtain money to clear his debts and had been alone in the act. However, the police have not bought his statements completely. Meanwhile, Priyadas Mangalath and his wife Jessy, the victims of Venkat, are recovering from the injuries at the Medical College Hospital here. Jessy, who had been admitted to the Critical Care Unit, was transferred to a special room, where she was provided special care on Tuesday. Their son Goutham, who had sustained minor injuries, is with them.
