KOZHIKODE: A special force under the leadership of Assistant Commissioner of Police Jossy Cherian has been formed to investigate the murder of Shaheed, who died on Monday, after being manhandled by locals in an incident of moral policing. ACP Jossy Cherian confirmed that he had been asked to take over the investigation into the death of Shaheed. He said that he visited the site of the incident on Monday and would take over the investigation fully on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Koduvally CI T Rajappan, who conducted the investigation on Monday, said that about 20 people had been questioned, including the doctor who conducted the postmortem. No fresh arrest was made on Monday, he added. The police did not suspect any terrorist link to the incident after preliminary investigations, he said.
