KOCHI: The Sanathana Dharma Suhruth Vedi (SDSV), a confederation of 28 socio-cultural community organisations, hailed Kalady Sree Sankara Sanskrit University Syndicate’s decision to reinstall its study centres on social reformists.The Sanathana Dharma Suhruth Vedi had earlier demanded reinstallation of these study centres.About three years ago, the Sanskrit University had taken a decision to stop study centres on Sree Sankara, Sree Narayana Guru Devan, Ayyankali, Chattambi Swamikal, Mahatma Gandhi, Agamanantha Swamikal and inter-religion.The socio-culture organisations condemned the university’s action and formed a confederation Sanathana Dharma Vedi in July 2009 compelling the university to reinstall the centres.This time the university syndicate envisaged `2 lakh each for the study centre in its budget.Hailing the university’s decision, SDSV decided to felicitate various functionaries of the university at a public meeting to be held on April 9.SDSV appreciated the efforts by Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, Education Minister Abdu Rub, Excise Minister K Babu, former Vice-chancellor K S Radhakrishnan and Anwar Sadath MLA.SDSV meeting was presided over by chairman Professor KSR Panickar
