CHENNAI: Principal Sessions Judge (PSJ) P Kalaiyarasan on Friday issued summons to DMK treasurer and MLA MK Stalin requiring him to appear before the PSJ on March 9 in connection with a criminal complaint filed on behalf of Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, last week. The complaint, filed by City Public Prosecutor ML Jagan on behalf of the CM, sought to punish Stalin and Tamil Murasu editor, printer & publisher RMR Ramesh for offences under IPC sections 500 and 501 for filing a false and derogatory complaint against the CM.According to the complaint, Stalin had lodged a plaint with the ADGP (Administration) on December 2 last year alleging that the CM had grabbed land  in Kodanadu in The Nilgiris and Siruthavur village near Chennai. The plaint sought to register an FIR against the CM for land grabbing, extortion and intimidation.Later in the day, Stalin had also issued a press statement alleging that the police had filed false cases against him and his associate Raja Shankar and others alleging that they had threatened, coerced and forced one NS Kumar to sell his property on Chittaranjan Road. Stalin had made the false and malicious statements solely with an intention to malign the reputation of the Chief Minister. The averments in the complaint and the press statement were totally false to the knowledge of Stalin. The statements were per se defamatory touching upon the discharge of her functions and duties. By making such false, frivolous and mischievous imputations, Stalin had intended to harm the CM’s reputation, the complaint added.
