New Delhi: Sunanda Pushkar's son, Shiv Menon recorded his statement on Thursday in connection with his mother's death probe. He was summoned earlier this week by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the case but could not appear as he was out of the country.
The SIT had been formed earlier for probing Pushkar's death.
Sunanda Pushkar was found dead in a five-star hotel room in Delhi in January 2014. Her death came right after she publicly accused her husband and Congress leader Shashi Tharoor of having an extra-marital affair with a Pakistani journalist.
On January 6, 2015, Delhi Police registered an FIR under sections pertaining to murder. While the probe made little headway, various conspiracy theories took centre stage. Theories, controversies and rumours ensured that the sensational Sunanda Pushkar death case remained a headline through the year. But the police are yet to establish who killed Sunanda Pushkar.
