Chennai: Telugu actor Sunil may have started his career as a comedian, but director Devi Prasad feels he is a "better actor" first and a "hero material" too.

"Sunil has the potential to be both, an actor and comedian. But he's a better actor because he can be funny and hero material. He may have started his career as a comedian, but he has the potential to be an actor," Prasad told IANS.

Sunil will be next seen in "Mr. Pellikoduku", a Telugu remake of Hindi blockbuster "Tanu Weds Manu". He will be seen essaying the role originally played by R. Madhavan.

Prasad has directed the film and roped in Isha Chawla to play the female lead.

"We've completed shooting for the film. Although we've made minor changes to the script to suit the native audience, but have ensured the lead characters are akin to the original," Prasad added.

R.B. Chaudhary has produced the film, which is currently in post-production phase, while S.A. Rajkumar has composed the music.
