London: The line "I think he’s attempting re-entry, Sir" by James Bond’s gadget guru Q, in the flick Moonraker has been voted top 007 innuendo in a new poll conducted by British cinema advertising company Pearl and Dean.
Actor Desmond Llewelyn spoke the line as he and Sir Frederick Grey watched the 70’s Bond Roger Moore take Dr Holly Goodhead "round the world one more time".
With his line "I thought Christmas only comes once a year" in the 1999’s hit The World Is Not Enough, Pierce Brosnan is at number two.
In the poll of 3,000 Bond fans, the last line from 1977’s The Spy Who Loved Me – "Just keeping the British end up, Sir" – came in third.
Moore delivers the punchline as Sir Frederick discovers him in another compromising situation.
"Bond innuendoes seem to work best when they are at the end of the film and subtle as a brick," the Mirror quoted Pearl and Dean as saying.
Upcoming film Casino Royale will star British actor Daniel Craig in the suave agent’s role.
