KOZHIKODE: The SIT on Friday arrested two persons, including CPM Thalassery area committee member, in connection with the murder attempt case in 2010. The accused are CPM leader P P Ramakrishnan hailing from Choodikotta in Mahe and Abhijeet alias Abhi, 28, of Moozhikkara in Kodiyeri. Police said that Ramakrishnan was the main conspirator in the earlier murder attempt against T P Chandrasekharan in 2010 and Abhijith was a member of the quotation gang led by Kirmani Manoj.Sources said the accused C H Asokan, K C Ramachandran and K K Krishnan had got together at the house of Ramakrishnan and hatched the plot for the 2010 attempt.Both were arrested under various sections, including 120B (criminal conspiracy), 118 (Concealing design to commit offence punishable with death or imprisonment for life), 143 (unlawful assembly), 147 (rioting), 148 (rioting with deadly weapons), 115 (abetment of offence punishable with imprisonment-if offence be not committed) and 116 (abetment of offence punishable with death or imprisonment for life-if offence not committed).SIT has also registered a case against Abhijeet for his involvement in the murder case under section 212 (harbouring offenders) and he was granted bail.
