KOCHI: The inauguration and handing over of keys of the 48 flats built as part of the coastal housing and rehabilitation programme under the Tsunami Rehabilitation Project at Edavanakkad will be held on Thursday.The programme will be inaugurated by Excise and Ports Minister K Babu on the premises of the tsunami rehabilitation complex at 3 p.m. Babu will also hand over the keys to the relatives of the victims of tsunami that devastated the coastal region on December 26, 2004.S Sarma MLA will preside over the function. District Collector P I Sheik Pareeth, Kerala State Housing Board chairman Arakkal Balakrisha Pillai, Edavanakkad grama panchayat president Anandavalli Chellappan, Vypeen block panchayat president Abdul Jabbar, Kuzhupilly gramapanchayat president T G Vijayan, Pallipuram gramapanchayat president Chinnamma Dharman, Nayarambalam panchayat president Taji Roy, Njarackal grama panchayat acting president Jaimini Madhu, Deputy Collector P Indiradevi among others will speak.
