The deceased have been identified as Bhama Bhoi who passed away last week and her granddaughter Nibasini who succumbed on Wednesday.The affected have been admitted to Talcher, Parjang and Angul hospitals and some of them shifted to SCB Medical, Cuttack, after their condition deteriorated.A medical team headed by medicine specialist Pratap Sahoo visited the village on Wednesday to take stock of the situation and distribute medicines.Chief District Medical Officer B C Behera said diarrhoea outbreak had been a result of contaminated water.Sources said the villagers mostly depend upon water supplied under Swajadhara Scheme.However, some pipes were recently damaged during construction of a school in the area, rendering the water supply system defunct. As a result, the villagers had to depend upon the polluted water channel for daily requirements.
