Two engineering students die in mishap

KOCHI: Two engineering students died in an accident after their bike rammed into a container lorry at Anavathil Junction here on Sunday. The deceased are Shobinath, 21, Ariyankuzhiparambil House, Malappuram, and Jane Joseph, 21, Kuran House, Chegamanad, Ernakulam. According to the police, the two, who were students of a private engineering college in Thrissur, came to Ernakulam on their holiday. According to witnesses, the speeding bike lost control and rammed into the container lorry which was parked near the road. Though both were rushed to the nearby hospital their lives could not be saved. The bodies will be handed over to the family after post-mortem examination on Monday.
