HYDERABAD: Neredmet police, on Saturday, arrested two persons who were involved in theft of 40-tola gold ornaments worth Rs 10 lakh from a family. Police seized the valuables and a knife from them. According to police, one of the accused is a distant relative of the victim. Wearing masks, the accused robbed the gold ornaments putting a knife on the neck of the victim’s kid. The accused are Tuppati Siva Shankar (25), a resident of Srirangavaram in Medchal mandal and Machaboina Pochaiah (24), also belonging to Srirangavaram. Siva Shankar is a distant relative of the victim.  K Venkateswara Rao, DCP, Malkajgiri division, said Shankar’s elder brother, Mallesh, died in 2009 and Shankar continued it till 2011. Then he purchased a DCM and sold it after suffering loss. Having debts to the tune of Rs 6 lakh, he decided to commit thefts and planned to burgle his younger sister Swapna’s house as it is a rich family.On April 11, in a filmy style, wearing masks, the accused entered into the house of Swapna at Santoshimanagar. Swapna and her family lives with her sister-in-law’s family and in-laws in the house. Police registered a case.
