Relations between the two neighbours along the border continue to remain sour with Pakistan daring India once again. Two villagers have been injured as Pakistan troops targeted around 30 Border outposts in Samba, Heeranagar, Kathua and Ramgarh by violating the ceasefire on Sunday night.
Firing started at 7 pm on Sunday and continued intermittently overnight. Fresh rounds of fires started in Samba and Heeranagar early on Monday morning.
The BSF has strongly retaliated to the ceasefire violation. Pakistan rangers fired mortars at a few places along the International Border.
The injured have been rushed to a local hospital and the villagers have been moved to safer places.
Pakistan had resorted to heavy firing and mortar shelling at nine Indian Border Outposts (BoPs) and civilian areas in Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday.
The Border Security Force(BSF) had retaliated effectively to the firing by Pakistan Rangers in which a school bus, a private minibus and tractor were also damaged and some cattle heads killed or injured, security officials said.
