The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission had decided to open up the unreserved category vacancies for reserved category candidates.
Allahabad: The Allahabad High Court is set to hear the case involving quota in Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) on Monday. Heavy security have been deployed as protests are expected. All schools in Allahabad have also been closed for two days.
Recently the UPPSC had decided to open up the unreserved category vacancies for reserved category candidates. A group of students have challenged the UPPSC decision before the Allahabad High Court.
The students alleged that the Akhilesh Yadav government was discriminating against students from the general category.
Last week, thousands of students took to the streets in Allahabad protesting against reservation in government jobs. Many angry students vandalised government buses.
