Dehradun: Heavy rains continue to wreak havoc in flood-hit Uttarakhand. Army sources have told CNN-IBN that 50 troops are now working to open a new route from Sonprayag to Kedarnath. The operation is likely to take six days.
Once opened, this route will be used to get relief material to Kedarnath. This even as three members of a family were killed in Dehradun on Monday when their house collapsed after a fresh spell of rains.
Power supply has been restored in most villages but it may be shortlived as the Met department has warned of heavy rains over the next few days.
