BHUBANESWAR: The State Vigilance has unearthed assets estimated at over ` 1.29 crore from the possession of Executive Engineer of Roads and Buildings division of Jagatsinghpur, Kumarbara Swain. Swain’s residence in Laxmi Sagar, paternal and in-law’s houses as well as office premises were searched by the anti-corruption sleuths on Wednesday. During the raid, the Vigilance found movable assets to the tune of ` 13.33 lakh while his deposits in different banks stood at ` 33.36 lakh. Close to ` 1 lakh in cash was also seized.Besides, he owned a single-storey house as well as a double-storey building in Paradip’s Nimadihi. A three-storey house in Laxmi Sagar was also detected. The total value of the immovable assets stood at ` 82.22 lakh. Search is still on.
