KOZHIKODE: Welcoming the statement by V S Achuthanandan, slain RMP leader T P Chandrasekharan’s wife K K Rema described it as a stamp of approval for the stance pursued by her husband. Reacting on the letter reportedly sent by Achuthanandan to CPM general secretary Prakash Karat, Rema said: “It’s welcome that a Communist leader like VS took a bold stand against murder politics. Political killings could not be accepted and it’s not the way of Communists,” she said.Rema added that Chandrasekharan had always fought against the inclination of the CPM towards right wing policies when he was associated with the CPM. He stood firm on his stand and floated Revolutionary Marxist Party. V S Achuthanandan has also stated these matters, she added.In an open letter to comrades on Saturday, Rema said that no CPM leader can evade the responsibility of this crime even if they conduct any number of public meetings. She also exhorted the comrades to do an introspection whether they should believe and field themselves behind the killer leaders of the CPM or not. Rema alleged that the CPM, which had been led by popular leaders P Krishna Pillai, EMS, AKG and Nayanar, has now come into the hands of a group of criminals. “After this, the party transformed as one for killing and getting killed,” she said. Left Coordination Committee state president K S Hariharan also echoed the similar view that VS is a humane leader and so he asserted his stand against killing politics clearly. He added that VS has raised a political issue and LCC would support VS if he came out of the CPM. The issue of the brutal killing of Chandrasekharan heavily swirled the party and there aroused a general feeling against murder politics. RMP and Left Coordination Committee will launch a mass campaign in the state against murder politics from June.
